My specialty is in food and consumer product safety. I worked for 16 years in industry in global product stewardship supporting the safety of various billion dollar brands. I have consulted at ToxStrategies for 14 years and I oversee a group of innovative thinkers who can help assess safety and regulatory risk throughout the entire supply chain. I am passionate about ensuring our deliverables are scientifically sound, delivered in a timely manner and easy to understand.

Since joining ToxStrategies in 2012, I have specialized in the assessment of food, feed, and dietary supplement ingredients, with a particular emphasis on botanicals. My work includes developing materials to support regulatory submissions, such as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) determinations and New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notifications to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). With more than 20 years of experience as a toxicologist, I also bring six years of prior work with an international trade association, where I focused on research programs designed to support compliance with the EU’s REACH Regulation and the UN’s Globally Harmonized System (GHS).

I bring over 30 years of experience providing safety support for consumer products and food ingredients. My work has focused on ensuring the safe commercialization of a wide range of products, including cosmetics, baby products, cleaning products, industrial chemicals, pesticides, and food ingredients through scientific testing, literature support, and risk assessment. I am committed to delivering scientifically robust, defensible safety evaluations and am continually motivated by the opportunity to engage with new and diverse projects.

I am a protein chemist and microbiologist by training with over 30 years of experience in food safety and regulatory affairs in both human and animal food. My experience has been in both the US and International Markets. I am a lead instructor for Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) food safety for human foods v 2.0, and the FDA Food Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) course. My specialties include food safety and compliance risk assessments, food safety and FSVP plan creation and evaluation, specification development, US and international regulations, global import and export regulations.
